Anand Shankar Madhavan (1914-2007)

Anand Shankar Madhavan, a visionary and legendry luminary sacrificed and dedicated his whole life for the cause of social service and promotion of ideal and quality education for the younger generation. Being a non-Hindi speaking Keralite, he chose to remain at this remote place with rural surroundings of Mandar Hill keeping in view to propagating Hindi language among the masses. He established Mandar Vidyapith in 1945 and later on founded Adwaita Mission in 1990.

Madhavan, a product of Jamia Millia, an old pupil and a devout disciple of Late Dr. Zakir Hussain was a staunch nationalist, great freedom fighter, true Gandhian, devoted philanthropist as well a renowned social worker. A man of simple living but high thinking, he was a literary figure, man of academic repute, thinker and a write par excellence with philosophical instincts. He wrote more than 55 books on varied subjects viz., literature, culture, education, religion etc. He had a keen desire to develop various education institutions for the development of the region as well as of the state. His innovative ideas, ideals and ideologies still guide and lead us on the path of our progress. The entire campus vibrates and rejuvenates with the spirit of this pious and benevolent soul.

Aditya Nath, Former Chairman

Aditya Nath, the former Chairman of Adwaita Mission Group of Institutions, commands the honour of translating the vision of Late Anand Shankar Madhavan, the founder of Adwaita Mission Group of Institutions, in to reality. Under his dynamic stewardship, the MMCE progressed leaps and bound with the establishment and successful functioning of the institutions like B.Ed and D.El.Ed Colleges, an ITI and two Residential English Medium CBSE affiliated schools in Mandar Vidyapith and Shivdham campus.

Late Aditya Nath was born in Kerala and after completing his education he settled in Bihar where he served the society by opening up new avenues for the children and youth to shape their intellectual and cultural possibilities. His disciplined life, devotion to work and indomitable will power will ever remain an illuminating inspiration for the whole Adwaita Mission family
